RESUMO
Este texto busca discutir a perspectiva da cultura livre, do início da internet até a sua terceira década de vida. Para isso, percorre a história do compartilhamento na rede, das primeiras iniciativas de troca par a par de arquivos até a perseguição dessa prática, tornada “pirataria” e criminalizada por grandes atores da intermediação cultural. Discute a chegada do streaming e das redes sociais digitais como elementos que mudaram a forma de acessar e compartilhar conteúdo na internet para então problematizar a questão de iniciativas identificadas à cultura livre oriundas do copyleft, como o Creative Commons. Destaca a ideia dos comuns digitais e como ela dialoga, em um sentido ainda mais amplo, com a cultura livre. Finaliza trazendo ideias e iniciativas que buscam alternativas ao cultivo de bens culturais livres à margem da busca proprietária da cultura predominante no Ocidente.

ABSTRACT
This text seeks to discuss the perspective of free culture, from the beginning of the internet to its third decade of life. To this end, it goes through the history of sharing on the internet, from the first peer-to-peer (P2p) initiatives to the criminalization of the “piracy” on internet by major actors in cultural intermediation. It discusses the arrival of streaming and digital social networks as elements that have changed the way of accessing and sharing content to then problematize the issue of initiatives identified as free culture originating from copyleft, such as Creative Commons.
It highlights the idea of digital commons and how it dialogues, in an even broader sense, with free culture. It concludes by bringing ideas and initiatives that seek alternatives to the cultivation of free cultural goods outside the proprietary search for the predominant culture in the West.
