RESUMO
Este texto tem como objetivo traçar um breve histórico do processo de institucionalização da política de patrimônio imaterial no Brasil e apresentar desafios da gestão pública na consolidação do campo junto ao patrimônio cultural material. Questiona a separação ainda existente entre patrimônio material e imaterial e advoga por uma ideia ampla de patrimônio com a articulação dos saberes e fazeres de sujeitos situados sociohistoricamente. Ressalta que o patrimônio é um só e que este campo tem sido abordado por políticas internacionais, entre elas, a dos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentáveis (ODS) da Unesco, sendo um dos desafios do Século XXI. Conclui afirmando que o campo do patrimônio cultural de natureza imaterial já se consolidou no Brasil, mas é ainda frágil e seus alicerces podem ser abalados com mudanças bruscas de orientação política, especialmente neste momento de extinção do Ministério da Cultura. Finaliza chamando a atenção pelas perdas de mestres e esfacelamento de grupos culturais neste momento da pandemia de Covid-19.

ABSTRACT
This paper aims to trace a brief history of the process of institutionalization of intangible heritage policy in Brazil and presents challenges of public management in the consolidation of the field before the material cultural heritage. It questions the still existing separation between material and immaterial cultural heritage and advocates for a broad idea of cultural heritage with the articulation of the knowledge and actions of subjects situated sociohistorically. It emphasizes that the cultural heritage is one and that this field has been approached by international policies, among them, that of UNESCO’s Sustainable Development Goals- (SDGs), being one of the challenges of the 21st Century. Concludes by stating that the field of intangible cultural heritage has already consolidated itself in Brazil, but it is still fragile and its foundations can be shaken by sudden changes in political orientation, especially at this moment of extinction of the Ministry of Culture. It concludes by calling attention to the loss of masters and the breakdown of cultural groups at this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
