RESUMO
Este artigo visa fazer traçar um panorama do surgimento dos Cadernos Negros, fazendo uma contextualização das condições históricas que deram origem à publicação, apresentando alguns dos autores e autoras e seus textos para análise. São apresentados alguns dos conceitos definidores de Literatura Negra e/ou Afro-Brasileira e algumas das características dos textos publicados ao longo desses 43 anos desde o surgimento da coletânea. Também são analisados alguns dos aspectos que caracterizam a poesia como instrumento de inscrição da subjetividade negra no texto e de resistência ao discurso hegemônico que reproduz estereótipos, contribuindo para a manutenção e reprodução do preconceito racial.

ABSTRACT
This article aims to provide an ample overview of the Cadernos Negros, a collection of texts written by black writers, presenting the historical conditions that gave rise to the publication and some of the authors and their texts for analysis. It presents some of the defining concepts of Black and/or Afro-Brazilian Literature and some of the characteristics of the texts published over these 43 years of the collection. It also analyzes some of the aspects that characterize poetry as an instrument of the construction of a black subjectivity in the text and of resistance to the hegemonic discourse that reproduces stereotypes, leading to the maintenance and reproduction of racism.
