RESUMO
Este artigo aproxima uma série de imagens do fotógrafo moçambicano Ricardo Rangel com os temas de memória e colonialismo, a partir de uma perspectiva antropológica. O objetivo é articular algumas fotos de Rangel entre si, com as entrevistas realizadas durante trabalho de campo, com a literatura e a historiografia moçambicanas, a fim de entrever tanto a especificidade do olhar de Rangel sobre o cotidiano colonial, quanto as memórias e histórias que suas fotografias mobilizam. Para tanto, o artigo traça a trajetória do fotógrafo, para situar seu olhar e sua prática em um contexto colonial e pós-colonial, analisa alguns arquivos de Moçambique onde seu acervo se encontra e examina uma série de imagens que ele produziu, entre 1950 e 1975, a partir das histórias que elas contam.

ABSTRACT
This article brings together a series of images produced by Ricardo Rangel, a Mozambican photographer, with the subjects of memory and colonialism. The aim is to articulate Ricardo Rangel’s photographs with each other, but also with interviews conducted during the fieldwork, and with Mozambican literature and historiography, in order to find out the specificity of Rangel’s gaze at colonial daily life, as well as the memories and stories that his photographs mobilize. Therefore, the article traces Rangel’s trajectory, to situate his gaze and his practice in a colonial and post-colonial context; it analyses some archives in Maputo in which his collection is located; and it examines a series of images he produced be- tween 1950 and 1975 based on the stories they can tell.
