Resumo
O texto busca entender e comparar os registros fotográficos de Militão, Gaensly, Becherini e B.J. Duarte, quatro importantes fotógrafos que documentaram a cidade de São Paulo em diferentes momentos. Num período
de quase um século, a cidade também se alterou profundamente, tanto do ponto de vista urbano e arquitetônico, como do ponto de vista técnico (taipa, tijolo, concreto armado). O suporte fotográfico – a cópia fotográfica, o álbum, o cartão postal, a revista ilustrada – se modificou com a finalidade de ampliar o consumo da imagem fotográfica urbana.

Abstract
This essay seeks to understand and compare the photographic records by Militão, Gaensly, Becherini, and B.J. Duarte, four important photographers who documented the city of São Paulo at different times. In this period of nearly a century, the city has also changed profoundly, both from the urban and architectural point of view, and from the technical point of view (taipa, brick, reinforced concrete).
The photographic support – the photographic copy, the album, the postcard, the illustrated magazine – has been modified in order to increase the consumption of the urban photographic image.
