Resumo

Ao considerarmos o rápido avanço tecnológico e as mudanças na estrutura etária brasileira, torna-se fundamental e indispensável discutir o processo de inclusão digital de idosos. A inclusão digital vai além do ter ou não ter acesso a equipamentos eletrônicos e tecnologias da informação e comunicação, ela está relacionada a capacidade de idosos usar tecnologias para se engajarem em práticas sociais significativas. Logo apo´s a introduc¸a~o, na primeira seção, apresentou-se um panorama sobre os desafios da inclusão digital e sua interface com a exclusão digital e consequentemente com a inclusão e exclusão social. Na seque^ncia, abordou-se a temática do ageism, ou seja, do preconceito em relação as pessoas idosas, ainda tão presente em nossa sociedade. A terceira seção foi direcionada aos modelos de aceitação de tecnologias e, quarta e última seção, à definição e apontamentos acerca do letramento digital. Por fim, ao se considerar uma sociedade na qual a tecnologia se impo~e de forma inexora´vel, sugere-se que mais pesquisas sejam realizadas na busca de aprofundar os conhecimentos acerca da temática da inclusão digital de idosos.

Abstract

Considering the rapid technological advance and changes in the Brazilian age structure, it is essential and indispensable to discuss the digital inclusion process of the older people. Digital inclusion goes beyond having or not having access to electronic equipment and information and communication technologies, it is related to the ability of older people to use technologies to engage in meaningful social practices. After the introduction, the first section presented an overview of the challenges of digital inclusion and its interface with digital exclusion and consequently with social inclusion and exclusion. In sequence, the theme of ageism, that is, the preconcept against the elderly, still so present in our society. The third section focused on technology acceptance models and the fourth and final section on the definition and notes about digital literacy. Finally, considering a society in which technology imposes itself inexorably, it was suggested that more research be conducted in order to deepen the knowledge on the topic of digital inclusion of older people.
