Physical Development and Sports

The activities described below are meant to encourage and expand projects involving sports and physical activity as well as to raise awareness of the importance of regular physical activity to improve quality of life and wellbeing. Autonomy, integration, respect for diversity and social inclusion, learning, and developing physical and cognitive skills are all stressed.

Sesc views sports and physical activity as forms of cultural expression, and our methods are intended to value the symbolic aspects of sports and to encourage participants to truly embrace their activity or activities of choice. This understanding gives athletes and players another perception of their body, recognizing the singularity of the body and the power of the individual’s interactions with the surrounding world.

In a world in which multiple factors are leading to an increasingly sedentary lifestyle, practicing sports and moving the body are proving strategic allies in the effort to promote meaningful change.
